Usage and Satisfaction Study with navigation system
Navigation Usage and Satisfaction Study 2011 (Study Use of and Satisfaction with navigation system) are performed in the United States, renowned JD Power and Associates, found that many car owners reported problems with the GPS device manufacturers, especially with the quality of routing and ease of use.
This is the thirteenth year implementation; this study identified six factors that contribute to overall satisfaction with factory-installed navigation system. Listed in order of importance are: ease of use, routing, screen, speed, direction and guidance voice recognition. Besides the quality is checked through the analysis of problems reported per 100 GPS (PP100), where a lower score reflecting higher quality.
There are eight of the most frequently mentioned issues representing more than 50 percent reported weakness in general:
• We did not find the address / street / urban (33 PP100)
• Issues to include goals (32 PP100)
• The direct route is not given (24 PP100)
• Difficulties using voice recognition controls (23 PP100)
• map does not show enough street names (21 PP100)
• Cannot find the menu / display the desired (19 PP100)
• A map or point of search does not appear like it (16 PP100)
• Inability to see the screen due to reflection (14 PP100)
This study reveals that the usability of the system is a major contributor to the incidence of the problem, when nearly a third of reported weaknesses in relation to how easy it is to use navigation system. In addition, the trend towards integration of various control devices in a vehicle, such as audio, air conditioning and telephone, only adds to the dilemma associated with the ease of use and report motorists with their GPS.
Garmin GPS series is equipped Dodge Charger models are the best qualified in terms of owner satisfaction with factory-installed navigation system and has excellent performance in terms of screen navigation, ease of use and speed of system factors. In addition, the navigation device equipped with Mobs Hyundai Genesis Coupe is the next in the list and once again the Chrysler 300 comes in a Garmin, ranked third.
Navigation Usage and Satisfaction Study 2011 are based on responses from owners who recently bought 18.303 or lease vehicles purchased in 2011 model, with factory-installed navigation system. The study was conducted in October 2011.
